My bridge building story is about using puppets to share dance and music with all children, including those with disabilities. I traveled to Ohrid, Macedonia, and throughout Bangladesh with my puppet show to encourage children to dance and play together, each in their own way. One of the puppets is blind, one has only one arm, and another has clubfoot. The children are always curious, but happy to make accommodations to include everyone. I created the show after my first visit to Bangladesh where the disabled are often hidden away.
I wanted to create an opportunity to let people know about the help that was available to them in their communities, and to let them have an opportunity to explore, share, and grow together.
Want to get involved and learn how we use music and storytelling to inspire individuals to actively build relationships with people of different backgrounds?
